Nice to Meet You
Every Friday, a community of bloggers, stylemakers, companies and those who support all of the above show some love to others on Instagram with a hashtag series called #followfriday, #ff or #onetofollow. I am such a huge fan of this idea and just love how much it has grown my social media following as well as for so many others. I have “met” and even real-life met so many wonderful new friends who share my passion for design and love for “mommy-made” small businesses.
SOOO… I want to start a new “discussion board” right here. Right now. I want to use this blog post which I will re-post and reference often, to start a “Nice to Meet You” conversation. Here’s how it’ll work… Simply comment below with your name, your location (general is fine), if you’re a blogger or a maker and a little about what you do! I am so excited to check out some new blogs, new companies and even add to my blog “Reading List” on my home page! Who knows, you may even come across a new friend in your area!
I’ll start (here’s an example)…
My name is Brittany Hayes and I am a 33 year old mommy and now full-time blogger/designer in Monroe, Georgia. My blog is Addison’s Wonderland and it is a wonderland of interior design ideas and inspiration as well as a peek at my family life and fashion style.
Can’t wait to meet you!
XOXO, Brittany Hayes

Hello, everyone!! What a great idea this was, Brittany!! I have become obsessed with IG over the last couple months, and I love seeing everyone’s stuff. But also, I just love how much people support people! It is such an awesome thing to see and participate in. Anyway, my name is Erica Kenyon, and I live in a tiny town in Upstate New York. I make natural beauty products by hand, not just lotions and scrubs, but also mineral makeup, BB cream, eyeliner, etc. I do love it so much! I also paint furniture and do a little decorating when I can:) You can find me on Instagram at @sovdesign, and I will be launching my line of products, Sovereign Beauty, after the 1st of 2016. Because I am a freelance stenographer for my day job, I do not get much contact with humans (lol). So I just love opportunities like this to read all about you!
Hi, and thanks for this opportunity to “meet” fellow creatives!
I’m Holly, stay-at-home mama of a preschooler & infant. I am a decorator (owner of hcb interiors), & I blog very infrequently at hcbinteriors.blogspot.com, although I’m hoping to change that as I have tons of ideas in my head, just never enough time to write them down 🙂
I live in North Metro Atlanta, where I was raised, but my husband was in the Army, so we are in our 7th home in 12 years. Hope this one sticks! Enjoying reading about everyone!
Love this idea!! Thanks Brittany! I’m Anna, 24 years old and live in Gainesville, GA. I have my marketing degree & spend my days working as a marketing coordinator specializing in corporate events. I just started my new blog southernbreezecollections.com. It is all about my love for design, especially DIY projects, and my journey through life. I’m loving reading about all these fellow creatives!! This blogging world is becoming such a fun place for me. Thanks again for this board Brittany!

I made a teepee for my sons 6 mo pics one year ago this month and once people saw it, they started asking me to make custom teepees for them 🙂 I have custom made just over 150 teepees over the last year and absolutely love it. Hi! My name is Karen, I am 33 and from Florida. I am married, 8 years, and have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. My husband and I have both work full-time and love to travel and spend time outdoors when we do get free time. Having a hectic lifestyle, I was consistently feeling anxious, unorganized and overwhelmed with house chores and everyday life. I started reading other blogs and following Pinterest boards and was inspired to start my blog, Clean Life Happy Life!, http://cleanlifehappylife.blogspot.com/
I am having a fantastic time meeting other bloggers, learning new tricks to keeping life simple and getting my house and self organized, while documenting along the way.
Hi Everyone. I love this idea and I love your blog, Brittany. I would love to do the same thing on my blog, if you’re okay with that. It’s a great way to network and find new blogs to follow. My name is Nicole, by the way. I’m a Tennessee girl. I love decorating, painting, cooking, sewing… All things creative. My blog is http://www.doodlesandstitches.com. I’ve been blogging for 3 1/2 years and I love it!
Thanks for doing this Brittany, what a great idea! I just started blogging a few months back to journal my adventures as a maker. I have a creative brain and love to focus on all aspects of home “making.” I’m inspired by vintage furniture, beautiful textiles, nature and other creative people. I’m a self taught home designer, wood worker, seamstress and upholsterer. I’ve still got lots to learn but I just keep trying. I’m a general contractor by day, currently reviving 6 foreclosed homes, and working on the plans to build a spec home. I’m pretty new at blogging and instagram… I could use a few friends for encouragement, please visit me @ http://www.makerofhome.com or makerofhome on Instagram… Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Hi Brittany!
I just wanted to pop by and tell you how lovely was to actually meet you (and your sister!) in person. I’d love to stay in touch. Jamie from Statesboro, GA
I love this, women helping women. I’m a stay at home mom of two (6 & 3) who just launched an all artist designed, hand made children’s rug line called Rugamuffins. I want children to LOVE where they sleep and play. I want to add color and whimsy and creativity to the spaces where to do so! I seek artists, give them a new audience and medium for their talents and turn their designs in to rugs that will grow with the child. Seeing my kids love their decor gives us something to bond over. http://rugamuffinsrugs.com/ Hope you all love them. 🙂
Hello! I’ve recently developed a travel blog about me and my husband! We love exploring new places – especially ones that are a bit off the beaten path (Croatia and Iceland, anyone?) Our blog is brand new, so more content is added all the time! It’s called Weekends & Wanders. Feel free to stop by and don’t hesitate to send me any suggestions or feedback!
Cheers!

What a fabulous idea! I don’t know how I missed that you live in Monroe, GA. I do too! I am a mixed media painter and discovered your blog earlier this summer. I’ve been reading it every day and love it, especially the photos of your stunning home. Interior design is a passion of mine, but I often need a little help. To see my art, you can visit my website at http://www.kathymccullen.com. and, to see it in person, you can stop by my home studio, Decatur Fine Art, the LONA Gallery, or Marietta Square Artist’s Attic. At the same time, I was impressed and inspired by other bloggers to small and bigger diy projects but also on how to make a blog look professional! Thank you again 🙂

How exciting for you! That is one of those bucket lists achievements for home decor bloggers, you should enjoy this! My name is Emily, I have a home decor and DIY heavy blog http://www.ourhousenowahome.com/. I have been blogging for a little over 1 year, still learning and growing but meeting great people and having some amazing opportunities happen. I just turned 30, eek! When did that happen? I have three kids ages 7, 5, and 4, two dogs, one hamster and a white couch. I am a rebel like that. I grew up in sunny san diego, CA. When I was 19 I moved to Wisconsin to start a new journey, a planned temporary one. Three weeks into moving here I met my Wisconsin raised husband. You know the story first comes a big move, then comes love, marriage, three kids, a SUV and a home decor blog, with 3 kids in a baby carriage. 11 years later, we live in a small town in Wisconsin. Usual stuff. My blog is all about making our home work for us with low budget, upcycle, and many functional solutions into turning our house into a home. Thank you for reaching out to other blog’s and showing the support. So sweet of you! Have fun on this new journey!

Hi! I’m Mandell (like Howie)! I’ve been a long time admirer of home blogs and Instagram feeds but finally decided to start documenting our home on IG in fear our time in our little Texas Oil Boom Town is almost up. Take a peek: @urbanskyonhigh I’ve been blown away by the way it’s grown in just a few short weeks! I’m 29, a former Kindergarten teacher, mom to one (and hopefully a football team more!). I was “that girl” who sat in the library as a little girl pouring over home magazines, day dreaming, and sketching. Not much has changed! Thanks for this fun opportunity!
Congrats, that is so exciting and amazing! My husband, 2.5 yr. old son and pug are in the processing of building our second home (affectionately called the “Forever Home”). We built our first home 10 yrs. ago at the age of 25 so now I think I know exactly what I want, haha. I do not blog but love design blogs. I do always mention to my husband that I should so start a blog about building our Forever Home but honestly just don’t feel like I have the time, yet. I’ve copied my instagram account below where I do post some progress pictures of our house during construction and will continue to do so. Again Congrats and have fun. I’m excited to see what you do. https://instagram.com/4theluvofpugs/
Hi Brittany! What a great idea! I have been following you for some time, and am very inspired by your great talent! My name is Amy, and I am a blogger, IG’er, and pinner for HomeGoods. You can find me @crazychicdesign. I’m 40, a wife, a mother of 3, and a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). My first born is a 6 year old girl, and I have boy/girl twins who are 4. I work part time in my career, and I spend every other opportunity working on interior styling projects for brands and clients. My twin son has Down Syndrome, so I also spend a lot of time taking care of his needs. My background as a SLP has helped prepare me for his needs. Being able to share my extreme passion for interior styling brings me such joy! The world of blogging and IG has been such an incredible inspiration for me, and I’m honored to be able to share my story with you!

Hello! I am Jennifer Nagdeman. I too studied interior design and had the fun design job in Chicago. Although I loved it I felt that being a stay at home Mom was my new “career”. After having my third child I found my love of designer fabrics in a new way. I now sew designer boutique girls clothing. My company is called JellyLou Creations. http://Www.facebook.com/jellyloucreations
I have been sewing full time since 2012. Although I do not blog I do organize a showcase group titled The Handmade Designers Group. We have a group of several seamstresses together hosting showcases a few times a year. We find it to be a great way to introduce our latest designs. It has turned into a fabulous networking opportunity as well. You can even view our next showcase this Sunday Nov. 1 2015 at http://www.facebook.com/groups/handmadedg
I would love to sew your daughter something sometime! Your design sense is fabulous!
Thank you and nice to meet you
