Happy Monday!!! I hope you all had an absolutely amazing Easter weekend! We had probably the most low key Easter weekend we’ve had since I can remember. Some of my family was out of town and Mark’s family was either sick or working so we hung out at church all day! We have always been the “elected host home” for all of the Holidays so it was kind of nice to not have all of that going on just this once.
I think I literally just FELT Mark rolling his eyes at me all the way from work as I wrote “low key”. Low key as in, we spent all day Saturday unpacking. Literally about 12 HUGE boxes plus maybe 4 smaller ones. The very last boxes we had left from our move. You see, we have not had a closet since last September. And it has not been fabulous. Since selling our home last Fall, we were either living in our rental home with pretty much no closets at all or living here in OHW where we have been using a small wardrobe rack I purchased from Pottery Barn. Sooooo we’ve done a lot of re-wearing the same things and buying way too many new things. Needless to say, I have been beyond anxious to finally be able to unpack it all!
Once our house sold last Fall, Mark and I decided at that time to speed up OHW completion and just finish it as quickly as possible so that it was “move-in-able”. Therefore a ton of projects took the back burner. Including our closet. So we finally started to tackle our closet several weeks ago, and we ALMOST finished it up last week! We still lack a countertop on the island, pulls on the island and window seat drawers as well doors on the back tall cabinet of the closet that I don’t show in this update, window treatments and some decorative stuff… BUT it was certainly ready for some clothes!
So that is what we did ALL. DAY. SATURDAY. Like be glad you didn’t pop by because we were in some moods. Mark said it took so long because I forced him to re-hang everything on cute new hangers that I bought. I say it took so long because he has way too many clothes! Like four drawers of T-SHIRTS!!! I say we shall just agree to disagree. Oh and if you ever want to purge some clothing, try boxing it up for seven months and then unpack it. You suddenly realize how much crap you have that you don’t even want anymore!
Before we loaded it up I took some pictures of the progress so I wanted to share it with you today! We’ve also been doing about a million and one other projects lately that I will be popping in to share more often than my usual posting. Just to give you a hint at what’s to come… Last Friday Mark said “soooooooo are you going to wallpaper the ENTIRE house?” I mean, maybe close! Hehe. So stay tuned!
