All Things Girlie… And I Do Mean ALL

Dress / Clutch

Happy Monday! Well, I hope yours is happy because this is literally a week I have been dreading for over a month now. Y’all know that I am brutally honest about most things in life… okay really everything… and I tend to share those in at least the opening of every blog post I write. ONE… because Mark always calls my blog “my therapy” and TWO… because you guys ALWAYS have the best advice! So let’s just say that this week is packed full of some not so fun “procedures”. For most of my life I have struggled with iron/anemia issues, most likely brought on at least initially by my refusal to eat meat since the age of 13. And over the last two years it has gotten pretty severe. So severe that they want me to do iron infusions. Ugh. As you may know from “My Weight Loss Story“, I am NOT a fan of taking or doing anything “unnatural”. At all. Ever. So seeing as though I refuse to do that PLUS my levels keep dropping even on a full dose of iron pills, they have scheduled me for several procedures to rule out blood loss from a number of ways. Oh and if you are a part of the 3.5% of men who read my blog, according to Google Analytics, and you have not already exited this blog post, I maybe suggest doing so now 😉

So tomorrow I am visiting the good ole’ female doctor to try one last way to “stop” my cycle and then Thursday I will be “prepping” for that wonderful thing most people get to do when they are like fifty. PLUS, I am also having an Upper GI that same day to test for Celiac Disease since my blood work came back as a possible positive for that disease. Whew! You sure didn’t know what you were getting yourself into when you clicked on my pretty new purple lace dress! Hehe no really though, so that is that and I am of course praying for positive results on all of that jazz. My REAL question for y’all though is in regards to my last resort option to “cure” my low iron and that is a hysterectomy. Literally my very last resort but would LOVE to know your thoughts or experiences with that at a young-ish age like me.

Enough with the heavy stuff, let’s chat dresses. Because I LOVE dresses and lace and all things fun and girlie. I purchased this dress for my recent Dallas Conference, along with like twenty other dresses, and never got a chance to wear it. It was one of my faves though and just had to still share it! I love that it is so feminine yet still modest in length and super comfortable too! I am really excited to start diving more and more into fashion since I love it so. Saturday I put Mark in charge of the camera and gave him a quick little “camera on manual mode” lesson and he did pretty dang good! I am even thinking about doing a quick little blog lesson on it too! Winnie followed us outside and wanted to take part so he got some cute ones with her as well.

As far as fit, this dress and the wedges are very true to size. My dress is a size small and my wedges are a 9 which is what I typically wear. I have had lots of questions about these wedges so I want to add that they are SUPER cozy! Okay comfortable is relative because they are super high but they are WAY more comfortable than most any heel I’ve worn that high. Have a fabulous day my friends! Oh and I am SUPER excited to share our crazy Summer plans on my next post so stay tuned!

Ten years ago now I started my blog named after my Ten years ago now I started my blog named after my then five year old little girl ADDISON 💗 And today is her SWEET SIXTEEN! When they say it goes fast, they aren’t kidding even a little bit. I now see her “in passing” as she goes from school to band to hanging out with friends, her boyfriend, quiz bowl, honors clubs and everything in between. I’m so crazy proud of the young woman she’s become. Top ten in her class, living/studying in France for a month this January, and then possibly studying another month living on a college campus this Summer as part of the Georgia Honors Program in French. She’s beautiful, witty, crazy smart, incredibly creative, musically talented and has the biggest heart. Couldn’t be more proud to call her mine. Love you Addison!!! 💗💗💗

Both in complete disrepair that were about to hit the market. As any crazy busy, almost newlywed couple with four kids and too many things going on otherwise would do, we said… we’ll take them. BOTH! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 Needless to say it’s been a minute but our first renovation I just named (today) WONDERLAND COTTAGE is complete! And it’s adorable 🥰 Excited to share every single space with y’all starting TONIGHT! Here’s the completed reveal of the front living room… P.S. every detail and product link is on the blog tonight! *TAP SAVE to save how we secured the garland and a *TAP SAVE to save how we secured the garland and all (detailed below)* Finally got around to decorating one of my very favorite spots in our home… our bedroom fireplace ♥️ Since painting our bedroom dark and adding a little Portugal travels inspired tile to our 1908 coal burning brick fireplace, it’s just felt like the dreamiest little spot! Now for how we secured it all…
1. For the garland, John secured a screw into the mortar on the top ledge of the brick. From there, he added a zip tie around the garland, and then looped the zip tied loop over the screw.
2. For the stockings, with simply hot glued clear command hooks on top of the brick. The hot glue comes off easy peasy! Follow my shop @addisonswonderland on the @shop.LTK app to shop this post and get my exclusive app-only content! #liketkit #LTKSeasonal #LTKHoliday #LTKhome

Yep, HER name is ADDISON and MY name is BRITTANY 😉 Thirteen “short” years ago I started “Addison’s Wonderland” in honor of my then three year old Addison out of a “need” and desire to be creative as a new stay at home mom. That three year old will be SIXTEEN next week and I cannot even believe how much everything in our lives has changed. Here’s to the most creative, intelligent, witty and beautiful daughter I could’ve imagined. I love you ADDISON! 💗💗💗
