It is WEDDING WEEK!!! As this is posting, we are all on board a plane headed from Atlanta, Georgia to San Francisco, California! The first leg of our two week wedding adventure will be in San Francisco with the six of us, my mom and John’s best couple friends for two nights. All of us adults have been to California but all of the kiddos have not so we are excited to show them the sights! From the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods, Alcatraz and Lombard Street. We will be spending Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning perusing those areas until we head to our “wedding house” Wednesday early afternoon.
Wedding house… we spent the last few months dabbling with a million and one ideas from our very original plan of getting married in the streets of Antibes, France to having a backyard July wedding (terrible Georgia girl idea… heat… humidy… BUGS!). Once I came to my senses and realized an outdoor Georgia wedding in July wasn’t the best idea we started chatting about possibly combining our yearly Summer adventure (shortened and domestic this year due to Covid and a busy wedding Summer) with a destination wedding and then having a big backyard reception dance party in October. Much better suited for our southeastern Summer weather. It was really important to us both to make our four kiddos a part of our big day and we both really wanted it to be simple, small and intimate. I had mentioned California for the fact that it would be beautiful for a “destination” wedding and it’s somewhere the girlies have really been wanting to check off of their “states visited list”. Plus, we really love to ADVENTURE and road trip on our Summer trips and the California coast would be a great place to do so! And then THE WEATHER!!! Much milder for outdoor nuptials than Georgia in July.
Once we decided on California, my first thought was Napa Valley. Then my mom mentioned Carmel by the Sea and after a quick Google search, Carmel it was! And Carmel by the Sea it is! John and I both have never been but we cannot wait! The downtown is so super cute and it’s on the beautiful West Coast. We thought about choosing a random pretty spot in the area but then I had the idea of finding a house big enough for everyone who wanted to join and then just doing the nuptials somewhere on the property so we could then just relax and celebrate for the rest of the day. Exactly what we both wanted… simple, small and intimate. In addition to the six of us, my mom, Abigail, John’s best couple friends and my sister and her hubby are coming as well. Here’s a peek at our “home sweet home” for our wedding week! We arrive Wednesday, the ceremony is Friday evening and then we are headed to Cambria and Santa Cruz on Wednesday to finish out our two weeks.

The Girl’s Dresses…
Once again, simple, small and intimate… which to me means letting everyone do their thing! I let the girlies choose their dresses for the ceremony and here is what they each chose from Joyfolie…

The Flowers…
As far as flowers, I actually wasn’t going to do any because I wanted to walk out holding the girl’s hands so I wouldn’t have a free hand to carry a bouquet but then I saw these “to have and to hold” set of bouquets from Farm Girl Flowers and I thought they’d be perfect for the girls to hold in their other hand. So I had this shipped directly to our Carmel rental home delivering on Friday.

My Dress…
Yep, if you guessed “G” on my “I Think I Found My Wedding Dress” blog post, you were correct! In this picture, it wasn’t altered to fit me yet so it’s way big but I got it altered with it extra fitted down to my thighs and it’s GORGEOUS now!!! I got it from Everlasting Bridal that my friend Amy just opened and I love it so much! I also got a beautiful super long veil from her as well that you will get to see on wedding day!
My Shoes…
And here are my wedding day shoes!
Hope to “see y’all” THIS FRIDAY on IG Live where Ab will be videoing our big day!
XOXO, The Future Mrs. Palazzo
