Oh my Lord! I commented on your blog earlier, and stated I am from Georgia (Hampton, Henry County). Just this evening I asked my husband if I could get away for a while. I spent the last 8 years staying at home with my 2 children, and I have never been away from either of them for not even 1 day. I really would love to stay at your vacation home. I know I have not won, but this seems too good to be true, as the scenery is exactly as described to my husband as my desired place to relax. OMG! Unbelievable.

Holy moly you all have blown me away once again. Not only from the amount of entries but from the entries themselves! I thought “oh it’ll take me two secs to choose my three finalists!”. An hour later, I am still reading and re-reading. My hubby hasn’t even started yet so I know he will be up late reading too. I have to admit, I have had the absolute HARDEST time choosing anyone from out of state. Certainly not discriminating against any non-Georgia peaches or anything but I just keep thinking… our cabin may be cute and all but it’s certainly no beach front mansion to say the least. I would just feel soooo bad for anyone to travel so far to stay at our cozy little cabin. However, I guess it is up to you, not me! Just a forewarning though… there are no scrolled iron gates at the top of our driveway, I could throw a ball from one end of our cabin to the other (and I don’t throw) and we have seen a bug or two inside. Apparently that’s normal for a cabin in the woods but I am not a fan.
On the other hand, I have to say that I have fallen head over heels in love with Big Canoe. When I first heard almost ten years ago now, that my dad had purchased a home in the community, I thought “a mountain home? Who on earth would choose a cabin over a beach home?” Needless to say, I quickly became smitten. I don’t consider myself a super outdoorsy girl but the beauty of nature shines vividly in this community, With extremely strict covenants, Big Canoe has successfully intermingled nature with luxury, rustic with chic and cozy yet vast. So without further ado, here are our Top Five…

This would be a perfect getaway for my two sisters & me. Although very thankful & blessed, life can get busy and sometimes overwhelming. I believe this trip would help us let our hair down and just focus on having fun and being sisters. Here are just some minut reasons why I would love for my sisters to join me. Two of my sisters work at Children’s Hospital in Dallas (respiratory therapist & speech language Pathologist) they work long shifts and do so much for the children there and then no matter how exhausted they turn around & take care of their own kids and family at home. My other sister is a teacher and she pours her heart into teaching her students (not just book lessons but life lessons) and then turns around and does the same to take care of her two kids and family as well. I’m a mom of 3 and a former teacher. I would LOVE to win this giveaway & I’m sure my sisters would be ecstatic to join me!

Why would I love to win?
My parents just sold their home in Grayson! Yay! While I am super happy for them, I am sad that they will be so far away…Virginia to be exact…10 hours away! I would love the opportunity to have one last vacation with them before the big move, 10 hours away. I would also love the opportunity for my parents to spend some time with my husband of 2 years, for they have just agreed to meet him…for the first time! Different races are hard for some to swallow, but I am thankful that my parents have slowly begun to open their mind. I have the best husband ever, who encouraged me to see my family, even when they did not accept him. Your Big Canoe home would help us break the ice…providing so many design details to talk about and hopefully helping to inspire my parents new home decor. I feel like your design style and my life mirror one another…we do what we like; not what others like or approve! 😉 Here’s to stepping out of the box!
