You Guys!!! I cannot even believe it. We are ALL decorated for Christmas! Five trees later, our house is feeling all kinds of festive and I LOVE IT. The Holiday colors and sparkles and nighttime twinkling make me feel like our little wonderland is complete. Last year we spent the Holidays on a cruise so I did pretty minimal Christmas decorating especially when it came to setting up Christmas trees. Two years ago we did our very first real tree and I think I was scarred for life. Totally my fault but nonetheless we have been an artificial tree family ever since. Let’s just say that a tree looks MUCH smaller on a tree farm than in our living room. I mean we basically almost had to move out of our house to give the tree it’s space. And the pine needle mess? O. M. G. My ever so slightly OCD self COULD. NOT. EVEN. HANDLE. I think I basically sat in the living room criss cross applesauce (my very favorite “term” that came from preschool) with a dirt devil in my lap from Thanksgiving to Christmas. And then when it came time to get the 11′ tall and 11′ wide (hehe kidding on the width) out of our house, it took a chainsaw and a full on pine needle explosion to get it out! Check that fun little Christmas tradition off of our list! LOL.
Whew! So there is my Christmas tree story for those who’ve asked about us choosing real vs. artificial. So this year between being home for the season and being back on track with trees we can handle, I decided to do not just one or two trees but FIVE. Some are small but they still count right?!? Addie has the cutest little tabletop tree on her nightstand and seeing it all lit up at night makes my heart so happy. Just the sweetest little thing.
This year I partnered with Walmart to give our family room a little dose of Holiday wonderland. This room has been a space that has kind of slowly evolved over the last two years we’ve been in our 1905 home. Although it’s a room we spend a TON of time in, it’s been the last one on my list to complete for some reason. When we first moved in, we just kind of stuck all of the “extra” furniture into this space and just slowly switched everything out as I’ve gotten the chance. I loved the idea of partnering with Walmart to get this space Holiday ready and finish up the last bit of furniture shopping for the space because Walmart has truly stepped up their game y’all! It is now possible to create a cozy, stylish space that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. AND no one will EVER believe you got it atWalmart! Just wait until you see our family room reveal!
For this collaboration, I wanted to finally switch out our ginormous coffee table and add a side table for the cute little blue “tie dye” chair we usually have in the corner by our tv cabinet (the new tree took it’s place for now). First, I wanted a much smaller coffee table that is styish and chic but also gives us space to actually walk around the family room without climbing across the coffee table. LOL. I found this super cute faux marble and champagne contemporary style coffee table that was pretty much love at first sight. The size is perfect for the little bit of decor and a couple of drinks we usually set on the table and it also has such a fun modern touch that I love incorporating in our historic home. Next, I found this little side table in taupe that has such fun detailing and is the perfect color for the color scheme I have going on in the space. I also decided to add a tall, skinny tree to our family room since we spend much more time in there in the evenings than in our living/dining area. I found this beautiful 7 1/2′ pre-lit pencil tree that is a PERFECT fit in the space! I finished it all off with two cute little fur trimmed stockings and the CUTEST handhooked wool pillows. Here is a peek at our family room all decked out for Christmas!!!
