Happy Almost September!!! I have to say that this Georgia girl is OVER Summer. My wardrobe is over it, my desire to stand outside for longer than 30 seconds without sweat dripping down my back is over it and my naturally curly and super frizzy hair is most definitely OVER. IT. I think I have been daydreaming of Fall dinner parties on our back porch since about June 1st. However, with September also comes my baby’s September 1st birthday. Last night we celebrated Winnie’s 5th birthday with family and my heart cannot even handle it. With Addie every new age was exciting and fun yet this time around with Winter I can’t help but feel sad with each new age knowing that I will never see that previous age on a kiddo of mine again. Speaking of kids growing up WAAAY too fast, there is Addison. She is three months shy of ten years old and is literally almost my height wearing a size 7/8 women’s shoe! I blinked and she grew up. Literally. Just one year ago, really not even one year quite yet, I designed Addison’s bedroom for a growing girl. A girl that still seemed little to me yet was nearing pre-teen ages right before my eyes. I wanted to create a space that she would love now and she would also love just as much later. A bedroom that had touches of a little girl and touches of the girl I know she wants to be. A creative, artistic and feminine young lady that dreams of being an artist or designer like her mommy one day.
When Painted Fox Home approached me about creating a custom art piece with Mary-Catheryn of Copper Corners Art, I was beyond excited to use her incredible God given talents to create a piece that would be the perfect finishing touch to Addison’s little girl/big girl bedroom. I was inspired by the South American touches in her work and asked her to create the face of a girl that reflected Addison’s personality along with the colors of her bedroom. And boy did she NAIL IT!
