Our Fabulous New Bridal Rug Settee…
Happy Valentine’s Day my friends! Hope everyone has had a wonderful candy and flower filled day. I have received neither and I am 110% fine with that! Haha well, chocolate would be nice BUT I made the absolutely horrible decision to give up sugar for Lent. Yes, please kick me now. I am a mere 8 hours in and I have a headache and could seriously use a nap right about now. As you may remember, I have given up sugar before (read about that HERE) but never for 40 days. The most I have gone is 28 days and I honestly felt AMAZING by about day six but it’s still hard as heck. It’s such a crazy thing for your brain to continuously tell you that sugar will make you feel better and give you energy yet in reality it’s absolutely horrible for you and always makes me feel so much worse. Mind over matter baby!!! Oh and about the flowers… I literally BEG Mark every single year to not waste $100 on $15 flowers simply for this day. Not. Worth. It. And yes, I totally say I don’t want things when I really do… you know those crazy mind games us women play… but this is honestly not one of them!
Today I am popping in to share my new favorite piece of furniture EVERRRR!!! I became mildly obsessed with this bridal rug settee probably like two or three years ago but never really had a place for it and didn’t really want to spend the money on it. I thought it would be one of those things that I LOVED in the moment but would maybe grow tired of after several months or so. But no. Still as obsessed as ever. So I ordered it. Still without really a plan or place for it. But y’all know how I am anyways. Let’s just say that furniture and accessories never get bored in our home. They get moved around quite often so I am sure this will be the case with this piece as well. Foyer today and bedroom tomorrow? Hehe okay no, definitely foyer for a little while at least. And no, it doesn’t block our front door at all although it may appear that way here. It falls riiiiight before the edge of the door past the sidelights.
Oh and if you’ve been dying to see more cabin updates, they are about to be coming full force! We are headed up this weekend to start furnishing and accessorizing. All of the lighting fixtures are installed as well as the vent hood and backsplash so I am excited to see what all has been done since I was there last. And of course excited to share it with all of you!

Love this too!!
Hi there, I noticed your front foyer color, the bluish color, you have two posts with different names. One post says Gossamer Veil and the other post says 1/2 Stardew and 1/2 Uncertain Gray. Could you please clarify I absolutely love the color and would love to copy that Thanks so very much.
Carla 🙂
Hi! Our living/dining room is Gossamer Veil and our foyer is the 50/50 color mix. Thanks!
I am sorry, but I am a bit confused. Did SW take a full can of Stardew and a full can of Uncertain Gray and mix those two? Or did SW take each can and reduce each can by 50%?
Thanks again.
I went to SW and once I mentioned 1/2 star dew and 1/2 uncertain gray he asked me if that meant each color cut by 50% and then I got confused and told him I’ll get back with you soon!
Would you please clear this up for me. I took it as 1/2(full color) of one mixed with 1/2(full color of the other) but I wanted to wait and see ignorance I can get clarification.
Thank you so much!
Not ignorance(iPhone correction) it should have read “if I can”
Did you figure it out? I’m going to SW tomorrow to get this color and I need to know.
Could you tell me what sheen (flat, eggshell) you used on the foyer colors and dining room? Including blue trim around front door.
Thanks!
Also, can you tell me what shades you use on your windows, behind the curtains? Thanks!
