A few years ago we decided to begin remodeling our home. I looked at so many homes and battled with which fit my style. I actually found your historic home searching exterior navy homes. When I saw the inside, I decided to try to copy your design the best I could on a much lower budget lol. The living room and kitchen were pretty much gutted. We put in a whole new ceiling in the living room with lighting. My ceilings are only 9 1/2 foot ceilings at the peak and 8 at the low point. The first time we painted the ceiling I chickened out and went a shade lighter. It looked like a boys bedroom color so we had it painted again in inkwell. The dark ceilings do not make the house look small or cramped. We have lots of natural light and we purchased beautiful light wood looking vinyl to have a similar color to your wood. I found similar couches and a similar fireplace screen. : ) My husband loves how unique our home is. I picked out similar interior doors and used all the same paint colors and tried to design my kitchen as close to yours as I could. Thank you for your inspiration!!
