My Dreamy Blue on Blue Pantry Makeover & Organizational Refresh!

Happy Hump Day! This blog post has been a WEE BIT in the making. LOL. I took my time a bit with this “little” project but I am so glad I did because I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!!! So let’s chat pantry… from construction to failed organization to a more moody vibes and (fingers crossed) new organizational methods that will actually work!!! First, here’s a few pictures of our pantry when we first renovated our historic home…

Organization Round One…

Pantry makeover round one was completed several years ago now and although I loved it at the time, it quite honestly did NOT last long whatsoever. I learned very quickly that decanting… is not for us. Small baskets… are not for us. And pretty vases and platters up high… nope! I don’t want to have to climb the pantry every single time I need something.

When it came time for me to want to try again at our pantry, it had looked about like this for quite some time. Yep, organization didn’t last long whatsoever! Plus, we added two more kiddos to the fam so mass food storage was a new MUST!

TODAY!

This time around I decided I also wanted a new look in addition to better organization. I am ALL ABOUT moody, rich colors thee days and I have been drooling over this gorgeous color INCHYRA BLUE by Farrow & Ball for a little while now. We had specced it for a design project a while back and I have been trying to work it into my home ever since. It is so beautiful and I love it paired with the warmth of the wood baskets.

So here’s what I think and hope will work for us this time… First, large labeled baskets. From rice to pasta and even ramen noodles, we have large baskets where we can all toss a box or bag with PLENTY of extra room. Next, organized baskets of canned goods. Before, I had them all in stacked racks so it was difficult to see what was in each one behind other cans. This time I separated them all from in different bins from spaghetti sauce to canned soup. Also, this time I made specific baskets for dumping boxes from breakfast bars to protein bars and fruit snacks. I guess you would slightly consider that decanting but this time the kiddos can easily grab a bar or a snack size bag without leaving an empty box in the pantry. And finally, just more storage! I probably at least tripled the amount of baskets and bins and further organized them into more specific categories from taco kits to salad toppings to spaghetti noodles. Now fingers crossed this time it will WORK!

Here it is TODAY!

Hi, it looks great! I have a small pantry and this is exactly what I’m looking for. I need to store my pots and pans in my pantry too so I’m definitely looking for efficiency. What are the measurements of this pantry? Thanks

Can’t even remember the last time I posted a ran Can’t even remember the last time I posted a random house view 💗 Gosh I miss the old IG days! Earlier this week I was drying my hair and saw the sunlight shining through the mirror and had to snap a picture. I’d say our 1908 home “library” functions much better as a bathroom these days 🥰 Just might be my favorite room renovation!

It just went up in our historic renovation project and I’m in LOVE ♥️ Sharing more new renovation/design updates on stories today! P.S. We are lowering it for the actual room design but the “box installation” 😉 had it up a bit higher.

Renovating cabins together is where it all began f Renovating cabins together is where it all began for us ♥️ Looking back I can’t believe how much John just leapt right into it all with the first cabin I purchased just six months into dating but those moments are ultimately what led us to eventually take a chance and merge careers. I’ll never forget our 7am chat on the beach over Spring Break 2021 when we decided to go for it. We chose his resignation date and prayed we could make it all work! Needless to say, one of the best decisions we’ve made. It’s not for everyone but working alongside my spouse is something I genuinely love. It’s the joint passion, path, visions, sacrifices and small victories that you get to experience together that makes what we do seem less like work and more like an adventure. Of course this project is complete but y’all know me… always adding and fluffing and zushing and dreaming! Here’s a peek at what we were up to last weekend. P.S. I shared a much bigger and better peek at the newly installed and newly styled pot rail in our kitchen on the blog this morning along with a tutorial on how to drill into tile. P.S.S. @serenaandlily is having their Spring Design Event where EVERYTHING (including sale items and this gorgeous new rug) are 20% OFF with CODE: SPRING 🌺 Happy halfway to the weekend again!

Our Portugal inspired fireplace is complete 💙 I Our Portugal inspired fireplace is complete 💙 I once heard that a home should speak about and speak to the people who live in them… or something like that 😉 and it’s stuck with me ever since. Although we completed the full renovation of our home years ago, my favorite part has been infusing us into making it feel like home. From travel trinkets to family memories and inspirations from abroad, that last 15% is always my favorite design part of all. Sharing all of the details on the blog and here…

Our family was blessed with the absolute sweetest Our family was blessed with the absolute sweetest and most adorable student from France this month and it just so happened to be her 15th birthday yesterday! Although I thought it might be a bit creepy for me to stick to our standard tradition of sneaking into the girlies bedrooms at night for their birthday balloon wake-up “surprise”… I did sneak in Caroline’s room while she was in school yesterday. I know it can’t be easy to be away for so long so I wanted to treat her like my own and do a little simple something. It’s been such a blessing to have another kiddo join our big, crazy family this month. Joyeux Anniversaire Caroline! 🇫🇷
