WOW! Love seeing the progress! Talk about a lesson in patience. ha! I’m on the fence about shiplap. I’m so afraid it will be the wood paneling of the 70s?80s? in a few years. Paint colors come and go and heck if its that bad, I can paint it myself….but walls? I really feel that drywall, especially the smooth dry wall we have in the south, is truly an art and definitely not something I can tackle myself or my handy hubby for that matter. Would love to hear your thoughts on trends and how to incorporate (and how you’re incorporating) them in what could be a forever home. Or is there just a known plan (and budget) that in 10 years there’s a complete redo?
Awe thank you!! Yes, I totally agree!! I’m not into the whole farmhouse look for that reason especially but small doses are always okay if you’re trying to stand the test of time. It’s a little easier for us to change things up since we do this for a living for one. Second, I really loved the look in the two spaces I chose because it accentuates the ceiling height. Basically I think do things if YOU love them and if they work in YOUR home for reasons other than staying “on trend”
It’s looking amazing!! I love the light grey doors and all the shiplap:) we just built our forever home and I tell you the paint/stain colors was the worst part it was so stressful! I went with white walls and dark grey doors with a lighter grey stained trim:) I love following your posts you are an inspiration and do a great job Brittany!
OH MY GOSH!!! I can’t even handle how amazing this already is and CANNOT wait to see the final reveal of every single space 🙂 So giddy for you and the fam!!! Love the color so far and you nailed the exterior 🙂 I am a fan of the dark blue as we picked something very similar.
I just have to say that the house is looking incredible! The colors & all the details are so beautiful! Keep the updates coming – it’s so fun to follow along & live vicariously through you guys 😉 Great job!
That Doeskin!! Love that color on the doors. Very elegant… and this house is going to be amazing and gorgeous. Great job with all those colors. Snipping them into Evernote for the future. 😉 Thank you so much for sharing all the progress!
Fireplace in the master bath? Ooh la la, I feel relaxed just thinking about it! I love the shiplap in Addison’s room and the paint selections are amazing! I love the soft vintage colors, especially the light tam for the doors! So exciting to see the progress! Hoping to one day so this to our own home, you’re an inspiration!
LOVE your colors so far! Can’t wait to continue following your progress and your selections! I have been eyeing something along the lines of Doeskin for my master bathroom accent. May have to copy you there… 🙂
Ooohhh…I love the door colors with the Alabaster wall. Is that the Gossamer Veil paint on the doors? The dark ceiling also looks great! I definitely like the colors you chose on the interiors and it is a nod to the age of the house. They’re very soothing all in all. The ceiling height is amazing! I can’t wait until you get it done to see everything!
Question…when you painted the windows you painted over and/or onto the glass, how do you clean the paint off? Or did you have a film of some type or masking on the glass that can easily be removed when the done painting? Just curious because I need to paint similar windows and could use a tip! Thank you.
The progress is amazing!! Loving the paint colors! So excited to be following along your fun journey. I get to live vicariously through your update posts! Yay!! And the navy blue on the exterior- FABULOUS & PERFECT!
Just curious what type of paint you are using. Is it latex or oil based on the doors and trim? Your taste is impeccable and you give me so much inspiration!
