The Perfect Window Shades for a Sleek Minimal Look and Maximum Privacy!

Good morning my friends! As promised to lots and lots and LOTS of you that have asked, I am finally sharing our window shades! As part of a new blog schedule that I am hoping to FULLY implement after our Summer adventures, welcome to my brand new “Reader’s Choice Wednesdays”! Although I am about as spontaneous as they get, sometimes a little structure and organization goes a long way in my life so I thought I would give it a shot with my blog too!  Yep, promising to come to you every Wednesday (for sure after our Summer trip and some here and there before then) to answer the questions I receive most from all of you. One question that I probably get at least once a day when I do little home tours on my IG stories is what kind of window shades we have! Let me just say that I pondered this absolutely FOREVER when we were completing our home. I knew I wanted minimal coverage to showcase our beautiful 113 year old windows BUT we also needed maximum privacy living close to other homes on a busy street. Not to mention the fact that our master bathroom picture window literally faces the street. Like you could drive by and see me sitting in the bathtub without these shades. Ha!

I feel like sometimes I jump quickly on design decisions and then sometimes I go back and forth until my brain hurts. This one made my brain hurt. I knew we needed privacy but I was super spoiled with our last home because we literally needed no shades. Unless we were worried about the donkey across the street catching a peek. We lived on ten acres and had all of the privacy in the world. This time around we live on a busy street right off of the historic downtown square and have about forty feet to throw a rock from side to side before it would hit another home. SO we needed privacy. BUT we have these gorgeoussss old windows. I wanted something that would be almost invisible when they’re open yet still give us enough coverage. So I chose THESE SHADES. And I LOVE them!!! Cellular/honeycomb shades are the perfect choice for a sleek look with ultimate privacy. I chose light filtering shades for our living/dining room and then blackout shades for our bathrooms and bedrooms.

Here are quite a few great places to purchase them from:
