Five more Saturdays until Christmas! Five y’all. FIVE! Last year we were away for the Holidays but this year we are home AND hosting Christmas! With the exception of last year, we have hosted a huge party Christmas day for both of our families since Addison was born almost eleven years ago. It was our way to make the Holidays a little easier with a little less time spent on the road. We have also had everyone from friends to my sister’s in-laws join us as well and we have THE BEST TIME. Each year we cook a huge feast, okay okay MARK cooks a huge feast, and I plan a fun game that we all play. Two years ago I did a “minute to win it” style game and it was absolutely HILARIOUS! I also did a pajama theme that year which was so fun and so cozy! How fun would it be to do a FOOTIE pajama themed party this year. I am LOL’ing as I am typing this out. Not sure how everyone would feel about that but I keep passing the adult ones in the store almost every time I go lately and they are seriously calling my name. Hehe.
Mark and I were chatting with someone recently about how we’ve always been ones to pile up mega house projects right before a big event at our home. We never spread them out throughout the year to take off the stress, we do like fifty seven days before a party. This year however, I decided to start mega early and get it ALLLLL done way ahead of the game. Except gifts. I’ll be the one at the local 24hr drug store at 1am on Christmas Eve buying stocking stuffers. Literally. Because that is me every. single. year.
One project I have been dying to do for sooooo long now is hanging copper pots behind our stove. So random I know but it’s one of those things that always stops my in my tracks when I am scrolling on Instagram or Pinterest. Plus, we have been needing new pots anyways since ours were probably wedding gifts almost 18 years ago (ugh yes, we are that old) AND since we are hosting Christmas this year, it is basically the best excuse ever to beg Mark to drill into our marble backsplash.
For this gorgeous kitchen project and blog post, I partnered with eBay to beautify our kitchen AND get Holiday ready! From all your holiday table scapes and décor to those key kitchen and home appliances, you can literally find everything you need to get your home holiday-ready on eBay. Yep, not even kidding. For starters, I found this $500 set of BRAND NEW copper pots for UNDER $300 on eBay! When we got the boxes and I “surprised” Mark with them, he literally said WOAH, how much were those?!? eBay has a great Home & Garden section with 80% brand new items across their website. Plus, 89% of their items are “Buy It Now” meaning that they aren’t sold auction style. Everything I purchased for this project was in their Kitchen Appliance section which is a GREAT landing page for everything you’ll need to get Holiday ready and even for gift ideas too!
Earlier this week my new 47″ wall-mount pot hanger from eBay was delivered and Mark got to work that evening getting it hung. He planned on drilling into the marble but was actually able to support it entirely from just a top screw on each side drilled into our bottom vent hood support. After it was hung and stable, I had so much fun playing around with styling our new set of copper pots. I also found the cutest little cutting board to hang with the pots as well as a copper utensil holder to help tie all of the various metals in the kitchen all together. Here is a peek at our kitchen Holiday ready!
