Our Colorful, Whimsical & Elegant Valentine’s Day Living Room Decor…
Wow, you guys are the seriously the sweetest EVER!!! So many sweet comments on my last post and social media about me diving back into blogging life. I feel so refreshed and renewed that I kind of want to tackle everything I have been daydreaming about over the last month. Today. Like all of it right now. I currently literally have 12 windows open on my computer while I try and make progress on at least some of the million things I want to do… yahoo (e-mail)… WordPress (blog)… Rosetta Stone (making Addie learn French for our Summer adventure)… Etsy (looking for a kilim rug to use to cover a bench)… Ebay (same kilim rug search)… Wayfair (ordering desks or tables for my new office space)… Hygge & West (ordering wallpaper for our cabin)… Amazon (re-ordering Winnie’s tap shoes because I ordered the wrong size UGH)… and four companies/accounts that I need to change my autodraft bank information on because Mark made me move my blog bank account to a smaller bank here in town even though I still love Bank of America. Ugh. Can’t I just work and someone else worry about all of that crappy bank and tax and important crap?!? Hehe kidding but also totally not kidding. Mark is SO good with all of that stuff and I just grumble and moan and complain and tell him that I really just want to create pretty things. Worrying about all of that is just draining my creative mojo. 😉
Today I am sharing a little splash of Valentine’s Day in our living room! When I asked about blogging ideas yesterday on Facebook, several of you suggested a post on my day-to-day schedule and how Mark and I fit everything in between our kiddos and our companies. An idea I LOVE by the way! Totally going to log an entire busy week and share it all. In the meantime, let me share one more little tidbit about myself. Besides the fact that I loathe paperwork and numbers and yada yada, I also drive to Target some mornings and spend way too much money just to get a coffee. So here’s the thing… one way that I try and capitalize on my time is to get “ready-ish” on days I work from home before I take my kids to school so that I can immediately go run errands. Ready-ish as in a touch of concealer, lipgloss and a hat. Jeans on a good day and yoga pants on most other errand days. I drop the kiddos off and then drive 15 minutes to the nearest Target which just so happens to have a Starbucks inside. And since I am already inside of Target, you know, may as well do a little shopping! Yes, Wal-Mart is literally 2 seconds from our house and probably has everything I need BUT no Starbucks. And I am way more productive with a tall iced vanilla latte with almond milk.
So that is exactly why my house is decorated for Valentine’s Day. I started perusing around the dollar aisles in the front of the store and saw all of the cute stuff and then it was just downhill from there. I also decorated the kitchen and hallway for Valentine’s Day too. Whatever. It’s cute and fun and gave me something to blog about! LOL! So here’s a peek inside our living room all decked out for V-Day! Oh and if you like to follow along on our renovations, make sure and watch my IG stories over the weekend because we are headed up to Our Wilderness Wonderland with loads of stuff since it was just completed re-floored (is that a term?) and re-painted! Eeeeekkk!!!

SO dreamy!!
Where are the two garlands on the mantel from? Are those target finds?
Brittany Hayes says
I actually had those from last week but I do think they were from Target 🙂
Debbie says
I love the pink heart wreath! I need that!
Brittany Hayes says
Thanks Debbie! It’s from Target of course! 😉 XOXO
Kathy says
Wow, I am shocked to actually see you used red. I had just assumed you had a cardinal rule that you never use that color.
PS Glad to have you back and I’m happy you were able to get some much deserved rest.
Brittany Hayes says
Wow I can’t believe you noticed that! Yes, I’ve never officially posted about it but I have a serious aversion to the color red. I love to wear it but I never ever decorate with it! Good eye! XOXO
Liberty says
Looks beautiful as always!
We just found out that we are having a baby girl and I’ve been telling everyone the timing is perfect because everything in the stores is PINK right now! I definitely scooped up a bunch of Target’s Vday collection for the nursery 😉

What ever happened to the blush sofa you purchased? I remember you post about it, but you are now back to cream!

Love that you linked everything here! But still no blanket? And, it’s not on the liketoknow.it either…? At least, several of us are missing it – do you know where it came from? thanks!
Jared says
Hi,
Love all of your colors and taste. Do you mind me asking what wall and trim finishes you used with alabaster?
Annie says
I love this room. I love the bright pink bench seating. Please tell me where I can find one!
Joanna Averette says
I would love to know where your chandelier is from.
Gina says
Where is this blanket from?!
