Hi friends!!! I almost said Happy Monday but we are already halfway through the week! I took the last six days off of social media and from blogging to spend Fall Break with my girls. And it was FABULOUS! As I navigate through this new world of “technology / device free parenting“, I have also been taking huge steps myself to limit the time that I spend on my laptop and phone as well. Although for me, my phone and laptop are the equivalent to my mom’s office computer growing up, I still want to recognize that my devices are mainly work tools so I am trying more and more to maintain “work hours” with them as much as humanly possible. I swear that as the world tries to make life “easier” and more “efficient”, life seems to only get more difficult to navigate. The more quicker and more efficiently we get things done, the more we add to our schedules and to our lives and our brains! Sometimes I swear it isn’t even so much the AMOUNT of things I need to get done as it is the number of directions my brain needs to go!

Monday evening we arrived home about 15 hours earlier than planned from a Fall Break trip to Cape San Blas, Florida. It was our first time to this part of the panhandle and we had such a wonderful and relaxing time. As I sit here this morning typing and watching the news, my heart breaks for this very same area that is about to get hammered by a category four hurricane. Waking up Monday morning to the news that the storm had turned into a category three storm overnight, we decided to pack up and head home a little early ahead of the evacuation traffic. Our trip was actually kind of two parts: vacation and house hunting. We are on the hunt for our next renovation project slash vacation rental property so we booked a trip to this area to see how we liked it and if it might possibly be the location of our newest wonderland. Although we LOVED the quaint little peninsula, it was just a wee but too desolate for what we are personally looking for in our next vacation spot. Maybe because we live in a small town and already have a quiet vacation home in the mountains, we just have something a little more hopping and bopping on the wish list this go around. We really did love the area though and had such a quiet, relaxing weekend. I just can’t fathom the thought this morning of what may become of this tiny little peninsula after Michael’s landfall this afternoon. My thoughts and prayers go out to every single person affected by the path of this storm. Stay safe friends!!!

Today I have teamed up with At Home to share one more room in my Fall Home Tour! Last week I shared our living room all decked out for Fall and Halloween so today I am sharing our “spooky” kitchen and breakfast room. In all of my years of Fall decorating, I have never really done Halloween decor per say. I have always stuck to the leaves and pumpkins and pinecones but after I saw the cute selection of Halloween decor at At Home, I totally switched up the plan! If you follow me on IG Stories, you may have seen my haul of cute little skulls and “Day of the Dead” style decor. I also really loved the idea of going with the more black/white themed decor for our powder blue kitchen.

At Home is the home decor superstore with the latest and largest assortment of home decor at the lowest prices for both inside and outside your home. We have one about 20 minutes away so I pop by quite often to check out their newest arrivals. They have over 30 years of passion and experience in the home decor industry and they offer more than 50,000 on trend products! So now here’s a peek at all of that fun stuff styled in our vintage inspired kitchen…

Hi, I'm  Brittany

Addison's Wonderland began in 2011 as everything that I dreamed of for my daughter's room. I wanted to create a dreamy wonderland for her full of colors, patterns and precious details. Once her room was complete, Addison's Wonderland was born.
